Adventures With Clay
Originally a jeweller Emma started her Adventures with Clay in 2019 by playing with porcelain slip and making simple casting molds. Later she began to work with stoneware by slab building plates before finally getting a potters wheel in April 2021. Emma fell in love with the wheel instantly, putting in hours and hours of practice before creating her "Rain Pots" in the summer and seeing them go viral on social media.
An experimental approach to glazing led to her "swirly whirly glaze pour" technique, and Emma's complex, layered glazes, with names like "Drifting Dunes" and "Unicorn Dreams", are instantly recognisable. Emma's work is a mostly wheel thrown though she still casts her favourite square & bulb oil bottles.
