FAQ – Visitors

1.  Where is Portobello Town Hall?   Portobello Town Hall is located on Portobello High Street, 147 – 149 Portobello High Street, Edinburgh, EH15 1AF.  See map here.

2. Where is Greyfriars Hall? Greyfriars Hall is part of the Virgin Hotels on Victoria Street. The main entrance is located on the Cowgate, at the crossroads of Cowgate Head and Candlemaker Row. 2 Cowgate, Edinburgh, EH1 1JR.  See map here.

3. Where is St Giles Catherdral?  St Giles is located on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh, EH1 1RE. See map here.

4. Where is the Neighbourgood Market? The Neighbourgood Market is located at Portgower Place, Edinburgh, EH4 1HQ. See map here.

5. What parking is available?  All venues have limited parking on the street. The venues are all easily accessible by regular bus services. 

6. What times are the markets? Portobello Town Hall and Greyfriars Hall are open 11.00am – 4.00pm.  St Giles is 10.00am – 5.45pm.  The Neighbourgood Market is 4.00pm – 9.00pm. 

7. How many traders are at each market? Portobello Town Hall has up to 40 maker stalls, Greyfriars Hall 28, St Giles 21 and the Neighbourgood is 20 per market.  

8. Will there be workshops at markets?  Yes, at Portobello Town Hall. All our workshops tickets are available on our website under the workshop tab. Portobello Town Hall and Greyfriars Hall have a live musician and on occasions we have some seasonal additions such as bbq’s, choirs and more, please do check out our socials for latest updates. 

9. Are we dog friendly?  Yes, Portobello Town Hall, Greyfriars Hall and the Neighbourgood Market are. All dogs MUST be on a lead at all times.     

10. Do we accept cash? All our traders have access to card readers and some will accept cash, this is entirely up to each individual trader.  

11. Where are the market dates listed?  All our market dates are noted on our website under ‘What We Do -> Makers Markets’. The page is up to date and any new market dates are added as soon as the markets are confirmed.  We have flyers at each market with info on our upcoming dates. We also post regularly on our socials.

12. Are the markets accessible?  Yes both venues are accessible any concerns please double check with us.       

13. Are toilets available?  Yes, all venues are accessible any concerns please double check with us.    

14. Are refreshments available?  Are refreshments available?  Yes we have a resident coffee trader at Portobello Town Hall and on occasion food traders do attend.  Greyfriars Hall is part of Virgin Hotels.  St Giles has no on site refreshments and The Neighbourgood Market is an open air food and drink

15. Is there entry fee? All our markets are free entry except the Neighbourgood Market which has an entry fee.
