Welcome to the Makers Portal

This will be the go to hub for all information on markets, pop-ups, gift shop and so much more.  We will only accept makers that are part of our community to be part of any of our events, gift shop or any of our features.  Makers WILL Be expected to check the portal for any updates and to also adhere to our Terms and Conditions at all times.  

Communication will be via email and this portal and will replace all social media groups.

MARKET ATTENDANCE – IF YOU ARE A MEMBER YOU DONT NEED TO APPLY TO ATTEND ANY MARKETS – JUST SEND AN EMAIL CONFIRMING WHICH MARKETS YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND.  Spaces are limited as we want to ensure that we offer a variety of products at all our events.  



We have been asked to offer a payment plan for makers to pay for market attendance in instalments,  if this is something that you would like to do,  please send me an email with which markets you are interested in and we can go from there.  

PORTY WASH HOUSE MAKERS MARKET – Saturday 1st April and Saturday 3rd June, 11.00am – 4.00pm.  Cost is 55.00 per market.  Tables will be provided and makers must bring own tablecloth.  No sharing of tables at this market.

DOVECOT STUDIO’S MAKERS MAKRET – Saturday 15th & 16th April, Saturday 19th & 20th December, Saturday 9th & 10th December.  Tables and tablecloths will be provided and the cost is £225.00 per market with 15% discount for more than two markets booked.   **APRIL MARKET IS NOW £150.00 FOR BOTH DAYS**

PORTOBELLO TOWN HALL MAKERS MARKETS – We can share that we will be hosting a monthly market at the Town Hall from August to December for 2023 with provisional dates as the first Sunday of each month.                                        We have are now offering a LIMITED SPECIAL OFFER for our makers with reduced costs for more dates that you book.  Times will be 11.00am – 4.00pm.                              One Market – £50.00                                                                      Two Markets – £80.00                                                                  Five Markets – £180.00

FRINGE BY THE SEA – We are attending as a collective with makers (already selected).  

CONNECT FESTIVAL  – Friday 25th to Sunday 27th August.  Further details coming soon. 

MONTGOMERY STREET PARK FESTIVAL – Sunday 18th June 11.00am – 4.00pm.                                                                      We are working with a group of small independents on Easter Road to bring a Summer Festival to our local Park, with music, markets, food, kids activities and much more – details will be shared soon.  

Restock & Stock Collection Calendar  – please only book one appointment in a 4 week period to allow for all makers to access an appointment.  If you cant make an appointment PLEASE ensure to cancel this to allow others to book the slot.  ALL STOCK to be collected or dropped off MUST be done via booking in system this is to ensure that I am fully aware of stock coming in when as I am not always in the shop so need to make sure who is on duty is fully aware of the logistics for the day. PLEASE ensure to read the terms and conditions any stock not collected after one month after your booking ceases can be sold by STM.  We have very limited storage so please ensure that you arrange for stock to be collected or posted.  

Pop Up’s at Gift Shop   – these can now be booked as above, if you require a 3 day booking please book all 3 consecutive days.  Costs – One Day £20.00, Two Days £35.00, Three Days £50.00.  These don’t need to be consecutive days.  

Gift Shop – We have very limited availability to join us.  If you are interested in joining please send me an email to discuss further.   All makers currently in stock will receive ONE extra day on your booking.  Makers who are on the current 3 month block which started on 6th February  your booking will cease on 9th May with rebooking by 9th April to confirm your current space by 5,00pm.  The booking will then open for all members to book what spaces are then available at the shop.  Email will be sent in due course to confirm all these dates.  If you are intending to leave please ensure to give your 30 days notice so that I can ensure to update availability for others. 

Membership – ALL Makers will required to complete ONE application form which will cover entry to shop, markets, pop up and our online features.  Only makers who are confirmed members will be given acceptance to any part of STM.

Inventory Sheet – Makers please use the following inventory sheet for all your stock at 101.  Please ensure to bring a paper copy with your all restocking purposes.  

Codes – Makers please ensure that all your products have the relevant codes given on them before sending to shop or bringing into shop.  Stock cant go out with out codes and this can mean that not getting on to shop floor immediately due to other duties within the shop.  

Display – Makers please remember to bring your own display stands etc.  I have ordered more clips for the black boards for jewellery display.

Makers can book any available spaces for a minimum of 3 months with a 30 days notice period if you don’t wish to continue with your rental space.  STM will provide makers with a code which is to placed on every individual item with price and inventoried.  STM can storage and will support stock replenishment.  Makers can book extra stock replenishment times directly with STM.  STM takes a 1.5% card commission on sales with monthly reports run on the last Monday of each month and all payments processed by the last day of each month.  Makers must provide all any extra display materials for their booked space.  

Makers will be given the opportunity to volunteer in the shop from January.  

Costs – spaces range from £7.50 – £55.00 per month which is paid in 3 month advance bookings. 




Makers can book our dedicated POP UP space at the gift shop for either one day or a 3 day block booking.  Makers will have access to fitted shelves, small tables, wall space to use to showcase their work.  Makers will manage this themselves.

Costs – 1 day booking is £45.00 and 3 days is £90.00.  Days are Friday – Sunday for booking.  


How to get involved

MAKERS MARKETS – Once you are member you are able to attend our markets.  Dates and venues will be confirmed in due course.  Makers will manage their own tables.  Makers will be sent confirmation email with all the relevant market information.  All other updates will be via this portal.  

Costs will vary depending on venue.


POP UP SHOP – Makers can book to attend, dates and venues will be confirmed in due course.  Makers are given an individual code and inventory to complete and label all stock with price and code.  Makers set up their own space and sales are managed by STM with a 1.5% card transaction fee taken.  

Costs will vary depending on venue.



INSTAGRAM TAKEOVER – Makers can book a takeover which can include up to 3 posts with 15 images, captions, #, reels or stories and these will be highlighted on our Instagram account .  Makers must email all the relevant information by the date given by STM.  

Dates – 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month.   


GUEST BLOG / MAKER OF THE MONTH – Makers can write a blog of up to 1200 words all about their business.  A selfie of the maker will be required for this feature.  This will be highlighted on our website social media platforms as our Maker of the Month on the 2nd Monday of each month. Makers must email all the relevant information by the date given by STM.
